Chris Johnson is the head of Municipal Product at Tradeweb Retail, where he is focused expanding the firms presence and influence within the municipal bond market.  Leveraging his 20 plus years of experience, he works across the various business teams including product, technology and sales to coordinate growth initiatives, develop new protocols, enhance existing technology and grow client engagement.  He is also a member of MSRB’s recently formed Technology Advisory Group (TAG).

Chris arrived at Tradeweb in May of 2024 from Bank of America after joining the municipal sales and trading group in 2007. He had spent the previous 5 years as a senior technology strategist building their client facing algorithm and electronic trading distribution. Prior to that, Chris ran an ETF create/redeem book where he was an active participant in the largest municipal ETF’s. Earlier in his capital committing days, he was a trader on the municipal credit desk focusing on hospitals and retail distribution. 

Chris started on the desk as a trading assistant in the municipal derivatives group. Chris began his career as an equity options clerk on the American Stock Exchange in 2002. He holds a B.S. from Bucknell University
