Ron Carroll

Ron Carroll is the Chief Data & AI Officer at the New York Power Authority (NYPA), where he has been a key leader since 2018. With over 20 years of IT leadership experience, Ron has a proven track record in building data platforms that focus on governance, quality, security, and strategic usage of data.
Before joining NYPA, he held leadership roles at Prudential, Travelers, and The Hartford, where he was responsible for delivering strategic information platforms and critical applications. His extensive experience in the financial services and insurance industries has given him a broad perspective on data management and IT leadership.
At NYPA, Ron leads the authority’s strategy for data governance, advanced analytics, and enterprise AI. He drives the adoption of emerging AI technologies, establishing the governance, risk frameworks, and operating models needed for responsible and scalable deployment. Ron oversees development of high‑value AI use cases that accelerate customer decarbonization, enhance asset management, and improve productivity in support of NYPA’s VISION2030.
